Welcome to the weird and wonderful world of dating. Here we experience everything from happiness, anxiety, orgasms and the most (sometimes) inevitable one…heartbreak. But not to worry, grab that ice cream (or dairy free ice cream if your intolerant / vegan) because you’re in for one hell of a ride!

We’ve all felt it, that excitement you get when the hottest person in town wants to hit you up, my god it is brilliant. You find yourself walking with a little bit more swagger, your head is held high and not even that girl Chelsea from school can bring you down when you see her 5th engagement post on Facebook in just two years.

You’ve got everything to live for, as the thrill of the date starts to sink in. What do I wear? What do I do? What do I say? It’s a complete and utter fiasco that can send your brain into a big old pile of mush. Be careful not to lose sight of the end goal, be careful not to lose yourself along the way. There’s just so many things to think about, sometimes it’s better to not think at all.

Afterall, 2019 has been known for its dreaded overthinkers.

But this is also where the problems start to arise and normally, it either goes one of two ways. If the date goes well, are you going to be together forever or are they gonna dump your ass so fine that even Jennifer Lopez would be bidding on it?

But this is the beauty of dating you see. You are not in control of another person’s feelings / actions and as much as it pains me that Harry Styles will probably never love me, I have to accept it and move on (to find someone who looks just like him obviously). But in all seriousness, this is just life and it’s how the cookie crumbles sometimes and if it’s not meant to be, then it’s not meant to be. Everything happens for a reason and as shit as you feel, you’ve just got to accept that they’re not the one. Get straight back on that horse and you’ll soon find your ride.

Whether you’re 7 years into a relationship, experiencing the exciting first stages or even if you’re part of that group that got dumped during the dreaded September blues, we all want to feel loved and that’s nothing more than what we deserve.

So, snuggle up on that sofa in the dimming lights of the Christmas tree, whether it be with your significant other or your dating app, and enjoy the season and its festivities.

There’s someone out there for all of us. You just got to find the one who suits you.
